Encorine is a quaint experimental photo-manipulator from France.
Most of her works capture the lonesome of common places.
I had an interview with her via e-mail, she’s currently busy doing experiment with her cameras.
The first time she found interest in polaroid film was when she heard about FadeToBlack. These instant films fascinated her,”They have something magical, it’s interesting to manipulate photos.
I’m learning with my mistakes.”
When it comes to explain about her style, she feels unsure,
“Experimental could be a right word, because
I’ll never stop trying different things.”
“To see an artist doing always the same works again and again is so boring.”
She always tries to be curious, because she thinks it is the best way to be creative.
Polaroid 636 CloseUp is her classic favourite, “Although I dream to have SX70 and Leica M9.”
After Encorine takes a picture, she imagines it resized into a square format, and
start to wonder how to finished with different manipulations or treatments.
When it comes to try new things, she’s very royal. She can take 150 / 200 pictures, but only keep 4
or 5 pictures that show the best. Her favorite moments to capture images are near dawn, when people are still
sleeping, “And to have the world just for me.”
